Resident Story--The Beginning

I am a resident in pediatrics--eight months down, three more years to go. I'm not allowed to make excuses. If my senior resident needs something done, I can't say, "But I haven't had my lunch," or, "I'm still working on another patient." With 180-hour workweeks and many nights without sleep during the night shift, I'm also trying to learn to be a pediatrician. And my weight has already decreased 4 kilos within two months.

--have to give thesis presentation next week, many stories to tell, and urge to read Atul Gawande's "Better". Has anyone?--
